Well the mouth is pretty close. I think I will try it first and then make it wider if I need to later. I added three brass pins to keep the infills secure.
I switched the spindle to the belt on my sander.
Then I started the flattening of the sides. I am happy the pins are blending in pretty well.
As you can see in this photo the plane is still wider than the blade. I think I need to change belts. The one on the sander now is getting old.
After I get the sides down some more I will work on the rosewood wedge that holds the blade firm.

It is really coming together, looking forward to see it finished.
The third picture of it polished up looks sweet
