Get One If You Can!

Get One If You Can!

Ive had the track saw for a while now and I must say I love it… as some of you know I am a bit of a Festool junkie, I cant speak for other brands of track saws as I havent used them, but this one is great. Everything from cutting sheets of material to cutting a countertop on a mitre with no chipping and actually have it work on site! It is also a great time saver for cutting long angles without having to jigsaw and router them you can just lay the track on the workpiece, cut and done. I...

Buyer Beware!

Buyer Beware!

I bought this at Home Depot about a year ago and so far it’s been nothing but trouble! I wanted a stapler and I think this was on sale for $110.00 at the time. It was a brad nailer as well, but the stapler was the reason I purchased it as I already own a brad nailer. I didn’t use it as soon as I got it home as I was busy with other things and I guess that was my mistake, if I had of used it there and then it would have been back to the store immediately. It was a little over a ...

Footprint 4 Piece Chisel Set

Footprint 4 Piece Chisel Set

These chisels are good quality Sheffield steel at a very economical price of only 29.99 for a set of four. The sizes are ¼”, ½”, ¾” and 1”. As always I wouldn’t trust the factory edge so after a brief time on the stone, I honed them on a diamond stone and now you could shave with them… however I wouldn’t reccoment that haha. Currently I am doing some dove tails and mortise and tennon work with them and they are holding their edge quite nicely. I will probably pick up a 3/8” chisel...

This saw is discontinued now, replaced by a new model but some stores around me still have a few left on their shelves. I picked mine up for about $360.00, that price for a Bosch slider is pretty good in my books. As with any other miter saw out there dust collection sucks but that is to be expected I guess. It came with a 60 tooth blade that worked great but after its life was up I replaced it with a Freud. The only real problem that this one has is that it is very hard to pull down when you...

Digital Protractor

Digital Protractor

I bought this protractor over the weekend when I went to Lee Valley in Halifax, NS. I paid $14.90 for it which isn’t a lot considering it is very helpful, if you need to find a angle, check an angle on a table saw, etc this is a great asset to have around the shop. It has a locking knob that locks the angle in place however this tends to throw it off a fraction of a degree, other than that it is working out great, I will just have to see how it stands up to the test of time.

Save Your Money

Save Your Money

I bought these blades as a set about a year ago now, however they did not last that long in my saw, they stayed in my miter saw and table saw for about a week and then they found a new home on my blade rack only to be taken down for the odd occasion when I build a deck. I paid about $40.00 for this two-pack of blades and they aren’t even worth that in my mind, but I was looking for a good deal and this popped right up. I find that the yellow strip makes more friction than anything else and it...

Delta 36-714 10-Inch left Tilt Hybrid Saw

Delta 36-714 10-Inch left Tilt Hybrid Saw

This is a good bang for your buck, when I originally purchased the saw I got it for around $1200, it is a little more pricy today but none the less a good buy. It comes wired for 120 from the manufacturer but when I received it I got my electrician friend to ramp it up to 240, not much that I have in my shop can bog it down now. In my old High school we had a saw just like this one with the sole difference of it being connected to standard 120, I notice a big difference between them, if you h...
