Csifishguy;

Your cabinets look great. Is that Melamine on the interiors? Excellent use of the space beside your garage door rails.

You have a nice set set of tools too. Please give us an update as you progress.

Congratulation on your one year as a lumberjock in 5 days!!

Yes I am using white mellamine for the interior, and oak for the face frames, and now will be working on the oak doors!

It’s looking good.

Are you going to have sliding doors on the cabinet by the door rails?

I like these. Did you read up on cabinet design in a specific book or are you just going from your own knowledge that you already have? Any recommendations on learning about cabinet design/construction would be appreciated. I fear that by building my own, they will come crashing down in pieces after loading them with substantial weight. Thanks.

to hokiemojo, I really do not have much knowledge, first get yourself a Kreg pocket hole jig, I love it and on the kreg web site you can download a cabinet making video, it is so easy to use for making all kinds of stuff, I just got mine a few months ago and these are my first cabinets that I have built.

good luck

to lanwater , I am going to have the lower doors on hinges, my cabinets are 16” deep and each door will open at about 16” each and the garage rails are about 34” so I will have about 2 ” so they will open and not hit, the upper doors will open uppward so I will have plenty of room. thanks for having my back hahahahahh

It looks like you did plenty of planing. I am sure those cabinets will look great when finished.
