I am retired and a daughter of a wonderful woodworker who passed on his skills to his sons but inspired this daughter with a love of all things wood. Now his sons are my favorite teachers and I'm so very lucky to have them. I have a sister who quilts and we find we speak the same language when it comes of making something fit, using patterns, and of course, fixing our mistakes. Began assembling the shop equipment in 01 and took classes at the community college in joinery, cabinetry and furniture making. Those gave me a foundation to build on. Now I just need "miles on the skis" as my skiing husband would say.
My daughter is a design major and came over and used the table saw, the miter saw and the band saw last month to make her course project (out of layered cardboard!). A chip off the old block. So nice to see her at ease with the tools.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.
To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.
Please enjoy your membership.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
