Location: Oshawa, ON Canada
Website:

My name is Chad, I'm 36 years old and I live in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. I'm a crane operator by trade and have been with the same company for just over 11 years. I have a great woman who's allowed me to take over the garage and convert it into my workshop.

Some of my best memories of visiting my grandparents in Newfoundland was playing in the sawdust at my grandfather's sawmill. I was too young to appreciate the wood that was being cut. I was more interested in the sawdust. It was like a big sandbox. Oh, and if you don't know where Newfoundland is, Google it - It's beautiful. I also have an uncle who is a cabinet maker. However, even though woodworking is in my family, I am an amateur hobbyist. I've only really gotten into this about 3 years ago when I bought my first house. Before that, I never really had the room, living in apartments. I have a lot to learn, but I pick up things very quickly. There is so much information here on LumberJocks that I feel it can only make me a better woodworker.

Hopefully, this amateur will impress you with my mad skills that I've picked up in my journey to this point.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
tom

Thanks for the warm welcome. This is a really cool website. A lot of information on here to look through, that’s for sure. Thanks a1Jim for the links. And Tom, yes this site is addictive. For the past couple of days, I’ve been looking at the Projects section for ideas. The wheels are turning in my head. I think I’ve got to get more wood.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Wisty
