Reclaimed barnwood .

In the last few months i have been watching my barn wood pile slowly fading away . It may have something to due the fact that i built close to 50 birdhouses in the last year .

Well a few days ago i was out for a drive and i stumbled onto this old barn that was falling down .It is located about 5 miles out of town from where i live .
I went and talk to the owner and he mentioned that it was great timing because he planned on taking the barn down this coming May .
I told the farmer who i was and like most people in my area they already knew who i was and what i do with barn wood .
Anyway he says give me a hundred dollars and the barn is yours . So now it looks like i will be able to continue building more of my Extreme Birdhouses for a few more years :-)
I am really excited about this barn because it has nice some great looking boards .Some of them are over 18” wide . This pile is from day 1 so far .

Garden Shed on Wheels

I finally had a chance to move my garden shed this past weekend . It had to be moved 25 kms to my new location . The only thing i didn,t think about where the power lines . We got the shed into Cranbrook and right away we had to stop because of the lines running across the road .
I had to borrow a long stick from a neighbour to push the lines up enough to get under them . We had to do this for the entire 25 kms . What a pain in the @ss . The shed eventually got to the new location without causing any damage . Then today i had one of my new neighbours lift it off the wagon and set it in place .
Everything went smooth without any damage or broken windows .

I will be having plans made up for the most of the houses. I am also anxious to get these done so i can get back to building the large ones. lol

I had a few skids of 1/2” x 6” plywood lying around ( free wood ) so i decided to use it for the exterior walls .
Then i will use 4×8 sheets of Chalet board over that and then trim everything with 1” rough pine.!
50 percent of the shed is made from reclaimed wood.
