Random Thoughts
I hope to do a small project for my sister soon. She wants a flag display case. I am thinking maple with mitered corners and walnut splines.

20 posts in 1496 days Location: Rochester Hills MI I am an amateur woodworker just getting back into furniture building. I began in our previous home building loft beds of my own design for our sons years ago. They were pretty simple, pine dresser facing pine desk with bookshelf up the back, and a single bed that stretched across the two. Later I build the cabinets for our kitchen, all in a makeshift basement workshop (really the laundry room). With our move I secured a real workshop space in the new basement, first building a cabinet that houses my benchtop table saw and router into a nice combination table saw/router table with dust collection and storage. I also have had a bench top drill press and have since added a portable planer a benchtop band saw and a dust collection system. My first furniture project in my new workshop was a mission style bed and twin night stands that I altered the plans slightly to coordinate with the style of my grandfathers old oak mirrored dresser. Next came a pair of bow arm morris chairs and ottomans. -- If at first you don't succeed it'll make some mighty fine kindling -- corncob -- Latest Activity | view all »
