Project Information

You all know the old woodworker saying "You can never have to many clamp", well that is true unless they are invading every flat surface in your shop. Mine were and i just could not take it anymore!!!

Built this out of left over plywood from the scrap bin. The small latch holds it in closed and keeps the top from twisting.

I was quite surprised as to how many clamps it held once i got it all built. It held all of the clamps I have an there is room for more! Guess i have to go shopping for more clamps, can't have all that open space with nothing in it can we.

Some times it seems like you have too many clamps and that a lot of them collect dust but then sometimes you don't have enough clamps. It's best to have all that you can get. That means that you have to store them some where out of the way. You have done a very nice job of storing your. What a great addition to your shop.

+1

Wall space is definitely at a premium for those of us who have been making sawdust for a while and this rack design is the best I have seen so far in this configuration.

I also like the fact that it keeps the longer clamps from falling off the wall accidently when not in use.

Bravo!

You know, if you have to many clamps, you can just send them my way, and I'll help you out. It'll give me a excuse to make that clamp rack. Ok seriously, very nice rack.

Nice, but I see some empty spots. You need to fill these.

Nice set up. Are you concerned about all of the weight? I built a clamp cart that was too heavy to move once it was loaded with Bessey clamps.

I am always concerned about weight. I could use to loose a few pounds, how did you know? Oh you mean the rack. I put 2 screws in each stud. And have 2 cleats holding it up. If I find my clamps on the floor one morning then I guess it was to much.

I'm in the process of finishing mine up. I was having the same problem with my clamps every time I went to harbor freight I would buy a few clamps. The clamps at harbor freight are one of the only things I buy there. By the way your clamp rack is awesome

To me it looks like you don't have enough; I see some empty slots.

Having a lot of clamps, that's just sound woodworking practice (more so, if they're pretty too). Suggesting someone might have too many - that's potentially mental illness and help should be sought, immediately.

I had a woodworker buddy come over and he said the same thing when he saw my collection of clamps. NO!!! never too many - as in when you need a size - you need that size. Nice project.

Very cool idea . If you have a project that requires 14 clamps and you only 12 , You don't have enough clamps !
