Project Information
So this weekend, I bought a ham for Christmas dinner and realized I had nothing to cut it on! First I measured the ham! Then I went into the shop and looked around and found a 1×4 piece of curly maple that I got at one of the Borg stores. I also had some walnut left over from another project. I now have an 18×12 cutting board for that ham and who knows what else! The whole project (minus waiting for the glue to dry) took less than 2 hours. I have struggled with juice grooves for a long time but knew there had to be an easier way than using a router and an edge guide. Well, I was right! I used my router table with a bull nose bit and stops on either side of the fence and got near perfect (OK, perfect) results! There was very little cleanup on the corners and it was so simple to set up the stops and distances. I must say (humbly), I just love this board!
Thanks for looking and Happy Holidays to everyone.
