Project Information

This project consisted of a lot of "firsts" for me. This was my first try at flush faced drawers. I was a little worried the gaps would be uneven, but luckily they turned out right. I used sliding dovetails for the drawer runners (also a first), which I found to be a very solid method. This was also the first thing I've built out of cherry wood and I must say, I love this wood! It has a beautiful grain and is great to work with. I've used mostly red oak in past so the cherry was a wonderful change of pace. After many hours, some Danish Oil and coat of Briwax, I had this beauty. I wish this was going in my house instead of a customer's. I've been doing woodwork for about 2 years now and this is definately the nicest thing I've built so far. This dresser was a joy to build and I learned a great deal while building it.

"And I love's me some cherry."

Amen. Your choice of species was … quite simply … just the cherry on top ;-)

Thanks everybody for the compliments. It means alot considering that I learned probably 85% of the techniques from this site. The other 15% was learned through a bunch of scrap wood, haha.
I'm glad yall like it.
