Project Information

Well after the new TV sat on a cardboard box with a table cloth over it since October, it was time to get serious about a entertainment center when the box started getting "mushy". This is red oak plywood and faceframe, with wormy maple drawer fronts. The raised panels on the doors are red oak also, but stained the same light color as the drawer fronts. I used Red Mahogany and Golden Oak Minwax stains. It is sprayed with several coats of semigloss lacquer. I used my new Earlex 5500 HVLP sprayer, which I like a lot! It is 49" wide, 30" tall and 12" deep, with adjustable shelves in the cabinets, and full extension drawer slides. Picture #4 is the frame before the back was on or the drawers were in or doors on. Picture #5 is a close up of the wormy maple drawers, and the pictures don't really do it justice. The grain pattern is awesome, IMHO. There is a wavy pattern i n the light wood besides the dark streaks. I really love that wood! It was a fun project. Thanks for looking! I appreciate your feedback.

Tim,
Your work is excellent! The balance and design are both so well done. I love the contrasting wood.

I saw this puppy in person last night and I gotta agree with Tim that the drawer fronts are sweet. In person they have much more luster and character, in my opinion they made the project pretty special. Either way Tim, good work buddy!
