Project Information

There was a recent post on here of some lovely boxes made by L J Kent Shepherd. I liked the subtle lid embellishments he showed in that post and this box owes some of its lid inclusions to that post. Thanks Kent for the inspiration.
I chose to make this as a mini chest with the curved lid and the curved sides. It was made from some old Teak that was given to me, originally being part of a sink bench in the galley of a yacht. The lid is from Huon Pine .
The box is reasonably large, measures about 280mm long x 160mm wide x 120mm high.

Ruddy,
I like this box a lot. Very nice and subtle detailing. Treatment of the back , and the front mounted lift are nice also.

Really nice.
I especially like the simple elegance of the outside and the dividers / handles inside.
Nice balance.

I'm glad I found this. I am flattered. It is always an hohor when someone likes your ideas enough to use in their own projects.

You did a fantastic job. I like the the curved lid-a very nice touch.

Again-well done

Wow Ruddy, first class all the way!
This is beautiful….. the fine "touches" that you have put on this box are superb. Love the inlays in the lid and
the subtle added curve to both the front and the back.

gbear is right, now you are the inspiration !
