Project Information

Made these doll bunk beds for my daughter's American Girl Dolls. They are made of painted re-sawed 2"x4". The bed rails, headboard and foot boards are mitered and tenoned, and bottoms are 1/4" ply dadoed into the rails, headboard and foot board. They join together to make bunk beds through the use of dowels centered on each post. Both beds are able to be top, or bottom, or stand alone.

They sure look pleased with dad's handiwork! Be sure to add safety rails, we can't have those little dolls taking an endo out of their beds.

I might have to use this idea…..we've got about a dozen sleeping babies in my daughters room (not all AG dolls though!!) and I'm tired of the 7 cribs, beds, etc. being all over the room. Maybe if I made some stacking bunk beds like you built, I can clean that room up a bit…..

Great handy work. Can you post some close ups of the head/foot board and how you assembled those?
