Project Information
Well, the project is completed and delivered… a bitter-sweet feeling. Been working on this thing, drawing for about six weeks and sawing since the middle of February, and have become a little attached to it but also glad it's over and gone to a very happy recipient. Oh that warm fuzzy feeling. She was in awe when she saw it. She said she had never seen such a big dollhouse. Guess she's got something to talk about at school tomorrow!
and me… I got a garage to clean up and a motorcycle I've been neglecting.
I haven't totaled up the receipts yet but I figure I have about $350 in it including "shop supplies."
Below are individual pictures throughout the house. Hope you all enjoy them.
side porch looking from the back of the house towards the corner
front porch looking from the corner towards the front door
the front step textured and stained to look like flagstone. worked out quite well using joint compound.
looking in through front door
a few pictures of the living room. notice the picture of grandma and grandpa over the fireplace. my grand daughter thought that was awesome.
a few pictures of the dining room
a few pictures of kitchen. the doors under counter don't really open.
arched doorway between kitchen and dining room
stairs - lower half
stair landing
stairs - upper half
picture showing detail under stairs
a few pictures of the rooms upstairs with wall to wall carpeting
looking out bedroom door to upper deck
upper deck looking across side from bedroom door towards corner
upper deck looking across front from corner
my signature placed on the back side of the roof
house is "on site" and ready for the unveiling. grand daughter has been confined to a back bedroom while it was brought in and set up.
"WHOA!!!" was the first word out of her mouth. made me proud to be the designer/builder.
taking it all in
one VERY happy camper. (I think I'm her favorite grandpa)
Now… I've got seven other grand kids to build something for. I guess I'll be busy for a while!
