I've never seen so much depth and detailing as this, especially in the eyes. There are a lot of good carvers out there, but they never seem to get the eyes right, your's have so much expression. Your fish is so realistic, care to share your secret on the colors?

Thanks for sharing,

Yes, I love the wolf - it's too bad the photos are so tiny. Welcome to Lumberjocks.

WOW! Ya know, if I had the actual animals and hung them from the doors, they wouldn't look as good as what you carved. Well done!

hi guys, and gals.thanks for all of the nice comments!! Daiku , i use polytranspar paint on my fish, there are alot
of colors that are made just for fish, so you can blend and build up your color as you go, the main thing on my fish
is i put on a few colors , then a clear coat then more colors etc. the clear kinda melts all of the colors together, and gives it alot of depth.
Robbins cabin, i looked at you doors Awesome!!! always wondered how they would hold up in the weather
where they are so thin, but pretty cool!!!
Gul, pics. pics. pics.! the more you have of the subject, the better it will come out, when you are just learning
just carve slow and really think about what you are cutting, as its easier to carve more wood off the put it back on :.))) also when i come up with a pattern i go to the copy place here in town and make a full size patten
Christopherallen dont know if i would want a dead animal hanging on my door, seems kinda messy :.))
thanks again Stacey also there are bigger pics on my web site, i'm still trying to figure out how to get pics. on here
