Project Information
Was just sitting around here in gloomy, rainy Indiana for the last 3 days,I didn't feel like working on the 6 projects that I already have started in the shop, so I decided to do some reading. The book that I was reading, was about Indians. One of the pictures was showing some ceremonial dancing, and the braves were dancing with what looked like Rattles in their hands. Thought to myself, that would be a neat project to make out of wood, so here is my rendition of an Indian Rattle made from wood. Most of the wood came from my scrap bin. I decided to make it segmented, as I am really hooked on it. Great way to use up some of the many small pieces left over from other projects. The overall length is 10.250X 3.500 for the head. Approx. 125 pieces in the head, and about 12 in the handle. The inside is hollow, with a wall of about 0.250" I just sealed in some nuts and washers to make the noise, should have used ball bearings.
