Project Information

Finally finished the worktable I started building when I lost the battle(and fingertip) with my jointer. One thing I did learn from all that, is that if its thicker than "Air", you will bang your finger into it…..
The design was from Marc Spagnolo. Made from birch ply, mdf, and red oak. And yes my shop is a mess. In the process of setting it up so lots to be done.

Looks VERY useful Vic. I like the replacable top too. Your shop is not so messy you can't get something accomplished. You got that great table built. :)

Nice table!! Looks like a torsion box top. Is that an air line I see hanging on the end? Nice idea to include in table.

Great table…check out all that storage. Your top looks similar to the top for my assembly table…from the March 2010 Wood Magazine project…

Thanks all,

Pacdad - yes that is an air hose. I had a small pancake type air compressor that wasn't being used so I insalled it in the cabnet.
Billp - The torsion top is a beast, much heaver than I expected. I was able to recruit one of the neighbors to help me set it in place. Luckily, it was already laying on top of my old workbench so aLL we had to do is lift and move sideways.
Ken - finger is healing nicely, still a little ways to go but almost there.
