got a good start, looking for more ideas

so i'm making a table saw workstation
contrary to many woodworkers i'm not really big on "planning" :)
i like to just figure it out as i go.
i got the basic part of it done, i'm looking for ideas on any cool things I could add to it.
i'm wanting to make a 90 out of pvc pipe going out the back for more sturdy dust collection.
i also want to make a cover for the back of the contractor saw to improve dust collection.

just tell me what you think and what you would do next :)
i just stained the extension tabletop with some ebony stain i had leftover. i will give it a couple coats of poly too. is that what i should do?
i still have some ebony stain leftover and nothing to use it for so i might do the whole dang thing. i think it looks cool.
this is one of my first projects btw.
the tabletop is 1.5 in thick (3/4 mdf with 3/4 plywood underneath). wrapped it with oak around the edge for durability. the tabletop will be secured to the tablesaw but not to the fence. will that work ok?

Hi Derek,

I built a tablesaw cabinet workstation a good while back… If you go to my blogs and look at "A new look for an old workhorse", you might get a couple of ideas… It has pull-out drawers on full extention slides, a dust shoot, etc. I also enclosed the back. This is an old Craftsman I've had simce 1985, and use it mainly for dados and rabbits…. My Unisaw handles all the rest of the work….. Feel free to use any or all ideas. This is my own design, so go for it…... Rick.

I built one about 2 months ago. Mine included a router table with a drawer for bit storage, a small pancake compressor on board for whatever, a drawer in every spot possible and integrated dust collection and also wired it for electrical on each end of the table. Check it out under my projects. Good luck!

i like the idea of the small air compressor and wired for electrical. could have my air nailer stuff stored in here too
i may also steel David's idea for the fiberglass sweatshirt dust collection, that is so cool.

added dust collection

had a bondo kit sitting around so i made a dust collection chute a la David Drummond (thanks for the idea!)

it was a small bondo kit so i might have to go over it with a second coat. it's fairly rigid already tho. this was my first time ever using a fiberglass kit for anything.

added another coat of fiberglass resin after taking these pics.
i used an old t-shirt for the material.
