HA! Well David, now you know where it went. Ted- looking forward to the tutorial. And thank you everyone. I still need to get a lid closer thingy for this one- I have another one built, I think I will paint it red. over black. Tomorrow's work. :)

Guy- I just looked and you are in Pennsylvania!! I checked out your website and your farm education center looks like alot of fun. I don't have a real job anymore, so I bet I could come and teach a little class about primitive finishes. I used to be a teacher, so maybe I could even pull it off. :) I will send you an email and we can make a plan.

I have spent a little time searching for Norwegian antiques to find a consistency in their style. You seem to have a knack for duplicating antique Norwegian wood working. Better mark them with a date, they might pass for originals from the 1800s. Nice work, BTW ;-)

Topa-They won't pass for originals.. believe me. Anyway I use the phillips head screws that come with the hinges and Mads says I need to use slotted screws because phillips heads are a newish invention. :) But I am too cheap to buy special screws at .20 cents each. LOL Topa, I will have to check out the Norwegian antiques to steal some ideas. If you find a good photo send me the link. :)
Rick- Nope- no biscuits in my stuff! LOLOLOL. I use horseshoe nails because they are square. Cut nails are too fat and don't have a pointed tip so the split the wood.
Whitedog. Thanks for you kind words of support.
Napoleon- This is the bench I thought your wife might like. Its so easy to build. It takes longer to finish it then it does to build it. Remember in primitive furniture building "close counts!"

It is all simple with the top having a reveal. Maybe that is why they rosemalled everything.

The more things you make the more I like them. Love these old bench seats. Your "antiques", really look authentic! Keep up the good work.

Cool, I was speed scanning the projects. Saw this one and my first thought was, "that was rivergirl's." Went back up the page and sure enough your signature look jumps out now. Great work!

Thanks for the kind words you guys and Christine. And BTKS you made me smile! That was quite a compliment! But I have to contain my ego- so I will say that as far as painted finishes go I am the serious minority here on L/J- hence easy to spot I think? LOL I need to go and pick up some logs today- but it is raining here AGAIN- so I may work on a little table. I should say a silly little table, but a table just the same. But I really need to get those logs out of that guys yard or he will not be a happy camper!

This came up in the random pic on the front page. I have been wondering for awhile. Whatever happened to her? I see where a lot of people disappear without a trace, and here's one more. I hope that she's OK and just moved on to other things…
