Project Information

Simple sliding lid box (from the Mike & Mads cutting gauge blog)
A gift to a wonderful friend.

Yes the gauge I made Mike needed a custom made box.
You can see the full blog here: http://lumberjocks.com/mafe/blog/21939
Nothing fancy, but with personality and all made of recycle wood.

The box:

1. The box with the gauge inside.
2. The pieces.
3. Hmmmm, a pleasure to use that saw.
4. Get the picture Mike?
5. Like so.
6. Close up and ready to send.

So if this made you curious, you can find the blog here: http://lumberjocks.com/mafe/blog/21973

Ok and here with the pipe, I give up!

Hope it can be to some inspiration,

MaFe

What a nice touch on that splendid marking gauge. It is wonderful to see so much pride into making one's own tools. It is reminiscent of another time.

all the best

The box and the cutting guage are just as wonderful as the friendship between Mike and Mads, thank you
sharing both the friendship and the craftsmanship with us. Yes, you can afford to give up Mafe you have
won no matter how you look at this.

Am I the only one who has noticed that all the handheld power tools nowadays come without cases? I have 4 of those orange tool boxes from HD because tools that I've bought didn't come with cases. I have a bunch of pine boards I should use to build boxes for various accessories.

Hi there,
sergiozal, ;-)
Ken my friend in sunny Florida, I prefere to call me wood traveler, I feel I have so endlessly much to learn still, but I enjoy the travel big time, and this I think I have a difficulty to hide up… lol.
Pb, take care, I still did not tumble over exotic pallets…
mxrdrver, I also noticed that, but we are the reason, since we buy after the price, so they found out that they could make better offers when sold in a carton… Sad but true. Except Festool ofcourse.
Trevor, yes I was happy I remembered to save some shavings, this I think is more personal. Acually it was Div who send me a gift where he used this, that inspired me.
Dan, don't digg too deep, you might hit the bottom. Big smile.
Thomas, hehe oui… ;-))
Gus, that was one hell of a compliment! But I will keep fighting, it's in the blood.
Chelios, yes I did put also a little pride here, but most happy thoughts, sweat and hours.
August, that will make me happy and proud, I love when others can get inspired, perhaps it is a left over from my teaching days, perhaps it's simply human.
Clarence, a warm smile here.
Dennis, it's not in my nature. And yes, I can see that I need ten lifes to stop finding new sources of inspiration.
I thank you all for the kind words, skill is a matter of will and repetition I think, and feel I have a long way to go, but aint this the wonder of this wood working, that we can always grow.

Hi David,

The night 20.03.2011 Copenhagen.

A perfect circle on top.

Yes it is really beautiful now, I had a fine moment last night taking pictures of the moon.
300 mm zoom lens Canon EOS 400D on foot.
