Three years ago - I was with LJ Philly

February 24, 2008 A very memorable time for me. Three years ago, I met LJ Philly Edwards in Poole, UK. I got a lot of improvements from that time to present. Actually, it is the Lumberjock that pointed me to visit Philly when I was in Southampton taking my PGCert in Maritime Education and Training .. a diplomate course in Warsash Maritime Institute. I was so interested in making planes and meeting Philly at that time. It was an interesting weekend with him. I could say that was the start of getting acquainted with somebody who is in the webworld.

What is really important on that meeting is the ongoing results that both of us have. Philly, though we don't have much contact to each other, is very active on website where I am still following. I continue to learn his techniques in woodworking. How he manages his living with his woodworking. I had improved a lot in my abilities and partly I owe these to him.

Here is the photo of us in his workshop in Poole posted on his: Philly Blog

Herebelow is the picture of my planes (2nd and 4th photo from right) that has the O1 steel blades that he gave to me… I learned how to harden and temper this kind of metal which is really very good and last long with its sharpness.

Thanks for Philly and it is good to recall that meeting we had. Hope we will have another chance…
Cheers and God Bless!

I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I just went to his blog and it looks like it might be an interesting one so I bookmarked it in my woodworking blogs folder. Thanks

It is great to see you meeting up with your LJ friend! I so look forward to meeting several people from here when I go to the show in Saratoga Springs next month. It is nice to put a face with a friend, and it looks like you had a great time! :)

Thanks to all. Just looking back from where I've been. It is our 3 year anniversary of meeting an LJ. Honestly, if I have known more LJs around that place like Martyn (Devon, UK) well I should have courtesy called him.
Hope there will be other chances I would meet LJs.
