Project Information

Some of you may have seen my posting ""Who has bandsaws IN STOCK?"":http://lumberjocks.com/topics/22297 Well, the answer was NOBODY. I ordered my 18' Rikon from Woodcrafter in Addison, Tx which is a suburb of Dallas back in early November. Well, I was at work yesterday not have a particularly good day when my cell phone rang. It was the guy at Woodcrafter telling me my saw FINALLY cam in. It wasn't due until the 2nd week of Feb. but showed up early. The picture shows it as I took it out of the box. I had not installed the table yet. But, FINALLY I have my saw. IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS MORNING WHEN I WAS A KID! WOO HOO!!!

That's a beautiful bandsaw. I almost bought one of those myself. I bought a Jet instead from a dealer along with my PM stuff as a package deal. I like the Rikon a lots though. Congratulations!!!

Good for you, Cozmo! What a great day it turned out to be! You will have to let us know when you get it all set up how it does for you - do a review. We are looking at band saws and our tongues are hanging out here! We are very happy for your acquisition! :D

Congratulations on the new toy. Quite a step from the scroll saw to the Rikon, but I am sure you will
not have too much trouble adjusting, just make sure you do remember to get enough sleep while you
are busy playing with this wonderful machine. LOL. Thank you for sharing.

Man, i don't know you but I'm happy for you. Tools make my bad days better all the time. Especially when a new or brand-used tool comes home for the first time. From what i hear you made a great choice too.

MAN! Paul Bunyan could hit me in the face with a 2X4 and not knock this grin off !! I am at work thinking about getting home and making sawdust! This bad boy is 2 1/2 horse power with a 142 inch Timber Wolf blade. The next step up would be a ding dang saw mill. I can't wait to get home and cut something!!

I always say, "You don't get what you need, you get what you might need!"

I have the same bandsaw. I like everything about it except the fence. It is pretty short. I am looking for an aftermarket fence to replace it. Other than that it cuts wood really well.
