Project Information

Here's a bandsaw box I did for my wife. The corner puzzle piece slides up which lets you slide the cover off. Once the cover is off you find a box inside. The center piece is the top of the inside box.

The box is solid Padauk and is finished with 3 coats of water based polyurethane. I sanded with 320 after the second coat and 600 after the third. After that I applied 2 coats of Jonson paste wax.

Size is 9"x6"x3"
Thanks for looking.

That's a beautiful box, I just got a 3" thick chunk of walnut from my dad, I think it will become a bandsaw box too.

Thank you for the kind words!
Lars: it was something I did freehand so I don't have a pattern.

Very cool. I might have to try my hand at one of these.

I like that you followed the curve in the grain when you cut the outline of the box.

Gotta post the pattern for that! I think that is one of the coolest boxes I've ever seen. I just finished my first band saw box but it's nothing like that. Nice job. Let me know if you want to share the patten with me.

Very nice. I am still trying to figure out how to make these. What size blade did you use?

I used an 1/8" Timberwolf blade on this box.
