Nice looking project.Don't believe I've ever seen curly purpleheart before.Would sure make some great looking boxes and such.Could use a bunch of that.Welcome to the club.

You sure you didn't dye some curly maple and pull a fast one on us? :)

I bet it picks up the candle light nicely. Looks like it could shimmer.

Thanks for all the comments. The board that I got this purpleheart from didn't show any signs of being curly (or more accurately Im so new to woodworking that i didnt pick up on it) until I resawed it. Now I wish I had got the whole board!

Very nice, I have worked with PH alot and have never seen character like that. That is some cool wood. Nice job and congrats on you first posts.

but be aware it can be very addictive to hang out with this gang
allthaugh that isn´t the worst place you can bee they are all very nice
and will help you when you have a question

made one myself. out of maple and black walnut yours looks alot better. keep the saw dust fly-in
