Great looking rocker. You do some very nice work. I never would have guessed that Ireland got that cold. I lived in North Dakota and South Dakota for years and it would get that cold for months on end. Thanks for posting. Would love to see the finished piece.

God Bless

Branch,
What a great gift, I know that it will be appreciated. Children always like to rock and will cherish it always. Please keep us posted with more photos as the project progresses. Your work is always of good quality!
Thanks for sharing!!

hi thanks for all your comment's much appreciated .the clamping is a old trick that my dad taught me many many years ago when he had only 1 or 2 clamps and couldnt afford to bye Any more he would use the clamps to tighten the joint together then use the rope twist it tight with a scrap piece
of wood Tied it up take off the clamp and use the clamps on the next joint it saved time waiting on the glue to dry it worked great for him he said he learned it from his grandfather who used to make horse and donkey drawing carts for the farmers .
all my brothers and sisters got to gether around Christmas time for a meal we where talking about things that we remember about when we where growing up it was great fun remembering.
so when i was working on this rocker chair i thought i would use dads old method of clamping for fun and bring back some great memories of working or annoying my dad when i was just a child i will never forget tho good old days and the time we spent together in that old work shop no electricity all hand tools still have a few of his old tools just for keep seek .its been 27 years since he past away. it is always good to make something new and keep on challenge you self variety is the spice of life ha ha .
its not normal for it to be that cold here in Ireland just these last few years it gets very cold .
i will post some photo's of the rocker when i get it finished .
it is snowing here again
