Project Information

Doesn't it show what different colouring can do for a project.
Admittedly I have internally framed one, but both were stack cut.
As these were cut using ply and our ply here is very noticeably different in the layers, I decided to paint the back and the inside cuts with black to hopefully just show the front panel of wood. I think I achieved this and it these look so much better than the first couple I did.
After painting I sanded the front just to get some of the accidental spray off then stained them and spray coated with poly.
I am actually getting the hang of cutting glass now, so watch out unused photo frames etc I am wielding a glass cutter!!!!!
The etched mirror was the first in the long line of etching for me. It is sooooooo much fun and relaxing. This is another etched mirror. The pictures I use are either found on the net or are stencils from books.

Nice frames Theresa, how many cuts would there be in these? Would you use spiral blades on them?
Like your etching on the mirror.

Never count the cut as I wouldn't do them other wise. They didn't take long and I find them pretty relaxing to do. But I NEVER use spiral blades. I tried them once and couldn't control the cuts at all, ended up having holes here there and everywhere. So I just stick to the normal ones. But I do have a tendency to use the mach speed Olsen blades, as they cut faster but still leave a nice clean cut.

Beautiful frames and some very impressive scroll sawing skill Theresa. I wish I was anywhere near as good at it as you are. The etched mirrors were also elegant along with the frames. How do you etch them?

Wow, Theresa! Your a very busy woodworker.

Stack cutting is similar to marquetry cutting.

Very beautiful Frames, thank's for the inspiration.

If I were asked to describe your work and posts with one word, that word would have to be beautiful, very talented, but that is two words, or wow how do you do that, back to one word, fantastic. All the best in the new year. I have to confess I have fallen behind in reading your daily posts, when I can, I enjoy. You should seriously consider turning them into an instructional publication.

I am very humbled by your all reactions. As I thought that they were just ok.
Isn't it amazing what we do as individuals is taken for granted by us personally but greatly admired by others.
Thanks
