Just Finished wine cave for a freshley rebuilt restaurant that burnt down 1 year ago yesterday.
First shot is of exit to cave.
In reply to comment & questions.
8 fluted columns, & capitols & 3 carvings were I believe from India. The wood used was teak like," semi oily ", grain & figure of a quality mahogany, but harder than !!!!
The 6 of the capitols & columns were split & installed around 4- 6" steel columns which held up the rest of steel "wine bottle holding"portion of the cave.
After columns & capitols were applied, the arched soffets were designed, manufactureed, & installed .
Some if the specs were:
24 arches cut 44" dia.
Soffets 35" tall & 14.1/2" inches thick
A third carving was cut in half reworked to look as though the front carving at cave entrance was a single piece, shown in 5nd shot.
The highest ceiling at the cave is 15'-6 "
The longest straight run of columns & soffet is 47'-6", total run of 90'
The wine bottles that arch over you head are yet to be placed.
