So why have I not been blogging much lately?
Real simple, I have had very little shop time, and what shop time I have had, has had very little to do with woodworking…
Aside from the projects you all know about, or I think you do because you read my blog… I have also been decking my attic, packing still more insulation in there, replacing a busted AC drain pan / line, replacing sheet rock, texturing etc…
Just this past weekend I have…
#1. Floated, and taped the closet ceiling in the guest bath, textured and painted half of it (long story why half / half. More on that later.)
#2. Moved nursery stuff into the attic for the time being so guest room can be, well… a guest room…
#3. Did the Christmas decorating outside. Inside is a whole other story…
#4. Set up the full bed in the guest room… I need to get sheets and pillows still. And Mom will be here a week from today!
#5. Finished caulking the bathroom door trim. I need to add 1 last piece of trim, then caulk that, final sand, then prime the trim and the wall… Then paint. Did I mention my Mom is coming and my wife is having a conniption fit?
#6. Toted up and moved to the attic all of LOML's craft stuff that has been hanging out in the guest room…
I have a SHORT budget this year due to the whole economy, and LOML not being able to find a job, a LOT of home repair / replacement stuff that needs to get done (the carpet is trashed etc…) and a wife that is nervous as all get out about her mother in law seeing the house like this… Mind you, My mom stayed with me in the house when it was a Bachelor pad, and remembers the work that needed to be done. She will fully understand that the house has been about 50% remodeled in 3 years, on 1 income…
I love my wife to death, but it's times like this that make me want to get the holidays over with so I can get rid of all this STRESS!
