Project Information

Another toy for my daughter's grandchildren - from plans again found at Countdown to Santa Calendar
Santa drops down the chimney as Christmas approaches, ending up in the fireplace. The two boys take it in turns pulling out the bricks for each day of Advent.
I have a picture of this on my personal website and when my son's grandchildren saw it, they asked for one as well, so I'll be starting again soon to meet the start of December deadline.

Hah, that's a great little advent calendar!

I can't tell from the picture though - is there anything that holds the Santa inside the chimney (like a dado along each side?) Or does he stay in pretty good as it is?

He stays in pretty well. I did consider dadoes, but then the youngsters wouldn't be able to take Santa out easily - he would have to be slid up and out the top. so I left it as the original design.

Nice, simple Advent calendar. I am sure the kids will have a lot of fun with this for many years.

Love it! Such a great keepsake for the kids.
Been wanting to make this for over a year now but the website has been down since at least last year. If you still have the plans and are able to share or know where I can purchase, would love to! Thanks!

You may be unable to get it from FurniturePlans at the moment but their site is currently being rebuilt, so just wait a while for my original link to be amended.
A hint from me would be that the slots need to fit the sliding blocks quite closely so that they do not droop, but remember to allow for the thickness of paint on the top and bottom surfaces. 10 years on and still used at Christmas

@donjohn24 Please remove our copyrighted material from your website. I am glad you enjoy our plans but we are a small business that does not give away our hard work for free. I hope you can appreciate this.

We are in the process of rebuilding our website after a hiatus for family reasons, and will be adding these plans to the new site very soon.

Thanks,
-Joe
