Project Information

These have recently been completed. The mirror was a pattern from a wood and crafts magazine recently as was the letter opener. The clock however I cant recall where I got the pattern from.

The thickness of the wood, which I believe to be rosewood, is pretty thin at 10mm. So I decided to stack cut them. I used a crown tooth blade as that gave a smooth cut inside so I didn't have to worry about sanding. It might have been a #7.
The actual cutting didn't take all that long as I remember but I did have one mistake I made. The blade was slightly at an angle and as I stack cut the wood the bottom piece (which turned out to be this one) had very thin cuts indeed. But thankfully none cut right through- so it added to the project!

I love wood, sometimes you make a mistake and it turns out better !

Some beautiful scrollsawing Theresa. Three great pieces but the clock is something else. How long would this take, and how do you control the blade for these fine cuts? I would like to try scrollsawing but would be in the dull class.

Theresa all the three pieces of scrollwork are breathtaking. How patiently you must have done it! What was the thickness of the wood? Waiting for many more nice progects from you on scrolling.
