Project Information

So a while ago I posted that I made my daughter some quick simple drumsticks out of dowels. They worked fine to beat on various things. She is now 4 and loves to explore music, her mother played the vibes and some drums in high school and she looks as if she is heading that way. While cruising the internet for ideas I came across these two simple projects and she helped me make them both from mostly scraps. I bought the knobs on clearance this weekend and bought a whole bag of the balls for the mallet. Both work great and she loves them as you can see by the pics. I do plan on redoing the rythm block out of some nicer hard wood at some point.

I am so going to build her a tongue drum from MereMortals in the coming days. May be a Christmas gift but she will get one and have a blast I am sure.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comments. She does love all the various little projects and puts them to good use. Her safety glasses are ones she picked out and bought herself during a trip to Woodcraft, so they now hang in my shop for her to put on when ever she come in.

Great job getting her to "buy in" to the safety glasses. Probably a much better result than trying to impose them on her.
