This is a jewelry box made with Ramon Blanco veneer and home made banding. I am very new to veneer work. Ramon Blanco is like a yellowish curly maple but softer. The inside is lined with blue velvet and has a lift out tray.
Terrific job on this box. Fine work with the veneer and the decorative inlay banding. It's enjoyable to make your own banding isn't it. Really like the "Andrew Crawford" style arched top box. For someone new to veneering your certainly off to a great start.
Another nice one Tom. Great to see someone else making these curved veneered boxes. I just finished another one and hope to get it posted this evening. Good job!

OK. Maybe I missed something. Your last box had a carved top, this has a bent top.
Did you use wiggly wood for the substrate, or something else?
What did you use for the bending form?
