Project Information
I asked Douglas Bordner to do some photo editing for a web site I have been planning with Lee Jesberer. I e-mailed a bunch of photos and had Douglas remove the background from them. I'd tried this myself and decided I didn't have time to learn the tricks of the trade. Shortly Douglas was sending them back and, boy oh boy, are they great. It really helps to show off a piece of furniture to have the photo reworked to show it at it's best. It even better than shooting with all the lights and backdrops. I have those but it doesn't always come out just as I planned. I e-mailed Douglas and asked what he would like me to build him for his work. this is what he asked for.
The fence is made of soft Maple. The body is 1/2 inch thick and 14 inchs long. The under fence is also 1/2 inch thick and has a relief cut on the edge to prevent a shaving from hanging up while jointing. The bull is original pyrography and is based on my collection of photos that I shot while I lived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I test drove it on a #7 and a#5 and got square edges on both. Now, Douglas, all we need is to get you a #7 or #8 so you can joint with the best of them. Enjoy it my friend, you earned it fair and square.
