Yes I did a rotation of six axis and turned off the shadows.
No I made a bunch of large vessel turning tools as I used to do that kind of work but I get bored with sucking out the shavings. Most times I turned burls with large occlusions so the shavings would fly out the holes. FYI for those who want to try turning balls. The compression chuck at the left is mounted at the end grain and is made of green wood to grip the work piece. It is shaped with a hollow of a smaller diameter than the ball.
PS: I forgot to mention something. I used flared tail center for this because of the size but for smaller one I usually turn a flat faced tail center that can be attached to a live tail center.
