Project Information

My first "real" attempt at making a Greene and Greene piece of furniture. I highly recommend Darrell Peart's book on Greene and Greene design elements. The case is made out of walnut and the band is made of spalted maple. I put 6 coats of teak oil and finished it off with a wax finish. It was a fun project to build. I think I have found my favorite design. I think I'll head to Pasadena now and look at the Blacker house that the Greene brothers built.

Very elegant! Don't forget to check out The Gamble House. That's where I picked up my autographed copy of Darrell's book. I just finished a G&G picture frame, and am still in the midst of the Aurora sofa table, with TheWoodWhisperer's curved drawer front. I'm anxiously awaiting Ng's schedule for next year's classes.

Nicely done!

I was also inspired by Darrell's book, just not inspired in the shop yet…

We have plans to tour the Gamble House in January when we visit friends in Arizona, looking forward to it!

Your table came out great, I think this one just sealed the deal for me, I'm gonna man up and get in on some of that greene and greene.
