You should rename this piece "3D." I see, what looks like" some greens and reds lines. Looks similar to old 3D movies. Anyone have 3 D glasses that can try out? Classis 3D glasses only.

Nicely turned as usual. The grain really does "wiggle" in this piece. It's interesting how your turning and dye application has brought this grain out so well.

I'm still a beginner in turning and I have a question that I'm hoping you will answer for me. How do you turn the wood inside this. How do you hollow it out. In my "playing around" with it, I can get it started. However, ince I get deep enough into it, it kind of gets to the point where I can't see how it isn't very dangerous as my wrist would be very close to the spinning wood at the narrow opening. Also, further in, is there some kind of special rest, or do you just do it by holding chisels "freehand". I know my questions probably seem naive to most here. I am the firm believer though that the only stupid questions are the one's not asked.

I've never used dyes before, but that is one outstanding piece! Maybe one day I will learn to use my new lathe to make great pieces like that…

How did you get the beautiful finish using the wipe on poly?

I just refinished a coffee table & need to poly it…don't know what I'm doing, but I know I love the finish on your projects.

Any advice would be gratefully accepted!

Great looking. I have to ask and I can't believe nobody else did: why "Special K"?
