Project Information

We worked on these tables for a couple of months in May and June. We shipped them off to New Jersey then and I am just now taking the time to put the pictures up here. Over the course of those two months, I wrote five separate posts on my dorset custom furniture blog... There are links there where you can see many more and larger photos and the whole process of designing, engineering and building these tables from start to finish … Check it out if you have a minute … Big project

Outstanding all the way around!! I showed this to my wife and now she wants one for her place of work I had to fill her in on what it takes to do something of this caliber…I'm a one man band in a two car garage = Just not possible .

Very impressive work! How many tons does it weigh? This must be a law firm or financial institution. Just wish they'd spend some money on their wall art to reflect the nice furniture.

Wow, that is truly fantastic. I hope someday to do something of that magnitude but for the time being I'll just stand here and drool :)

I have never done anything of that scale, but on a few smaller tables I learned of some of the problems of scale that result in large projects.

How do you manage the problems of wood movement and moving and assembly of such enormous tables?

Great jobs.

Fantastic beautiful table Dan. The room it's in doesn't even begin to do justice to it though.

Great looking table!

Question, in the last photo, where did the chain saw fit into the construction process?

the chain saw didn't fit into that project. the tables were too big for my shop so we set them up in my garage. The chain saw was in the garage and under the table was a nice out of the way place … we do use it for furniture making sometimes though, like here ...

Beautiful job on the tables. Big jobs might look intimidating but, when you figure it all out and get it finished you feel a good scene of accomplishment. Very nice.
