Project Information

Hi Folks

Thought I would post a project I have just completed. A large woodworkers bench.

The specifics are as follows;

2" Thick top deck made of 36 - 1" * 72" strips of Maple. Hence the dimensions of the top are 36" by 72".

The legs are 4" by 4" laminated maple. The height of the bench is 35". The inner walls\cabinets are made of 18mm maple plywood.

The front three drawers are faced with pinhole cheery. The trim is walnut. The ends are made of 18mm plywood with a birds eye veneer.

The finish is 5 coats of brushed poly on the top and 3 coats of sprayed lacquer everywhere else.

Any questions or comments would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You

Bruce

This is a really nice workbench! Now go pound something on it. I'd be scared to use it till it got more scuffed up.

Wow, very nice indeed. Looks great and super functional. You could double storage capacity on the cubbies by laying another shelf above the tools.

Great use of shleves and storage for sandpaper. Great design.

What woodworker with a conscience would even consider swinging a hammer near that beauty! I would put that in my kitchen. Wife might not agree…

Looks to good to use for shop work. You need to move that into the house, put a conforter or mattress on it. I don't know, maybe have a wide screen pop out of it… :0)
