Project Information

These represent my first attempt at serious woodworking. Though they are certainly in the G&G style, the design is all original. All of the wood for both nightstands came from one piece of Mahogany, tops and shelves are book-matched. Though not shown, the drawers sides are doweled in the front with hand-cut dovetails in the back. Great fun and I learned a lot. (G&J = Gary and Janet)

Gary;

Very nice night stands and an excellent first project. What stain / finish did you use?

Thanks for sharing this.

Good Luck!

I am also a new woodworker. I can only dream that my first furniture pieces (whenever I get to them) will be so nice looking. (I'm still building the pieces that will help me build my pieces…so to speak.)

Your design is great and your joinery looks tight in the photos. Great job.

I really like the GG tables. I kind of want to make them but I don't think the style works in VA for some reason. We have alot of turn of the century craftsman style houses around here that call for a more traditional Arts and Crafts style ala stickley. I always viewed GandG as a more lodge, California style. I still like it alot man nice job.
