Project Information

This was my first attempt at building a southwest style frame for a picture I had lying around. It's made of red oak, and the center portion of the rails and stiles are routed out to create an embossed inner and outer edge around the entire frame. Each side was made individually, so the getting everything to line up during final assembly was a little bit of a challenge.

Nice frame!

Déjà vu all over again.

I'm currently framing a pair of R. C. Gorman (Nevajo artist) tiles and I used a very similar style frame design.
They will be a burnt pine finish.
I'll post pictures once I am done.

BTW, my wife found the pair of R. C. Gorman tiles in a trift shop and paid $3 for the pair.

Here's the frame design from my sketch book.
