Project Information

Every year at camp, just south of Nakusp along the Arrow Lakes, stick carving is a big thing with the family. These are some that have stuck around. Max is my youngest. Me and the kids wander off into the wood with a saw and cut down whatever suits our fancy. Vine Maple is the species, or so I'm told - I just use oil, either Danish or tough oil.

Don't do that in a Fed. Park, the buggers will shoot you. Very neat idea, we used to do that when we were kids. A very long time ago before the Sleeping Bear Dunes was a Federally owned Park. Now a ranger comes around every day and tells you to make sure every thing is on the asphalt pad. It"s overrun with out of state people. It sucks…

We have been blessed with our own land…and besides we're so far removed from the rest of the world out here in the Kootenays that we can pretty much wander off anywhere and do what we like (responsibly of course).
