It happened multiple times in past… and probably to you as well, at least once. You spent 15 minutes typing long and meaningful blog entry only to lose it. Right before hitting Submit button your browser crashed or you lost internet connection or something else happened. I'm sure you didn't want to type it again. It's frustrating and demotivating.
No need to be nervous anymore.
I've integrated autosave feature into the most important forms on the site - new project, blog entry, forum topic, workshop, comment and new forum reply. It saves the unpublished draft of the form automatically for you each 30 seconds. You don't even have to remember to click on some new button.
Hope you like this and thanks for bugging me about this feature
Yup, it did. Just a strange momentary thing..thanks Martin. It re-appeared when I hit the back button, so I thought it was just staying on there..Thanks.
Lucky me had the situ on more than on occasion. Thanks for building the trap for it Martin.
This should dramatically reduce the use of my expletive vocabulary. <g>
Martin…I'm seeing comments from previous threads showing up in the next thread I visit comments box. Just started happening since you made the change. hasn't caused any problems but I could see comments showing up in the wrong threads.
Comment drafts should be working fine now.. I've updated them to be tied to specific post so the currently saved draft will not appear on the other post's page. And not that only one comment draft if saved at any time. Thanks for the feedback!
Martin I noticed that autosaving didn't occur when I was typing a message to someone. I hit back by mistake and everything that I typed was gone. Can this feature be put in messages also?
Hey Blake, you can edit your entries before posting as well as after posting (comments only in first 60mins)l. There is just no support for having multiple drafts right now.
Martin, how long does this save feature last. I started a blog last night but had that question about resizing images. I went back today to finish it. How do I get back to the draft or does the save dump after some time?
Great to have the feature. Thanks.
But i have the same issue as Shannon above. Typed it up, left it cause it said it was saved, and can't find a way to return to it.
