Project Information

Just for fun and as if I have nothing better to do, here's my version of TS and Jointer Aligner.

This one has variable height and depth adjustment, which is handy to have for measuring the blade at different heights or when switching from, saw blade to jointer fence.

Basically, you calibrate this to zero against 90-degree precession square or 45 degree angle and then adjust the table saw blade or jointer fence with reference to this.
You could use a wixey digital angle gauge which I do own but never use. Much more fun building and using jigs ;-) Thanks for looking.

Nice looking jig , but for what you describe using this for , why not just use your precision square and 45 ??
What holds the jig in place on your saw and jointer bed for a reference point ?

All valid questions.

First since I'm a square addict, I do use my precision squares and 45's.
And no digital or homemade gadgets will prevent me from using squares.

To answer your second question, the reference point is zeroing the dial against
Precision Square which is against the bottom needlepoint.
Once this is calibrated to zero against the square, you move it against the saw blade.
The bottom needle touches the blade and establishes the zero reference once again as before. The variation or blade squareness if any is reflected then on the dial to within 0.001 reading.

This was made strictly for fun and experiment ;-)

There's nothing like a new jig.
