I insulated the door using 1 /12 thick pink foam board and the put a foil faced bubble wrap on top of that. It works very well, I think that foil really help keep the heat out in the summer when the sun first comes up.

In my last shop my wife insisted on half of the garage too. In this one I had gotten a divorce and had the whole shop, so when I got remarried my wife is not getting half now. By the way I got remarried to the same woman….

I generally built cabinets in my shop as practice for otuer work. All of the cabinets are soild wood and have dovetailed drawers, sliding dovetails etc. The door panels with the nice veneer were seconds that I got from a cabinet shop in town. Here in Jasper there are at least 20 office furniture manufactures ( I work for one of them), 5 kitchen and bath cabinet manufactures, including Master Brands, and 4-5 home furniture manufactures. It is pretty easy to get parts that are seconds.

Great shop. Love all the wood you have! How do you like the band saw? I'm thinking of getting that model with the riser like you have. Any pro's or con's would be great. After the band saw comes that drum sander.

No complaints on the bandsaw. Getting the first blade to track right and have the right tension took some time but after that it has been fine even with different blades. Plenty of power for re-sawing havent bogged it down.

Your shop looks graet!

This is why I love this site so much. I've been thinking about putting a row of drawers just under my workbench top, but I love the drawers you have under your cabinets. They look great and seem very convienant.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice shop. A shop is a never-ending work in progress. Always something to add or even change around what you already have. I move mine around more than house furniture. I get tired od the same old look all the time. Mobile bases are great, ain't they? Married the same woman twice? Unusal. Interesting> couldn't you get it right the first time? lol lol.

Looks like your using every square inch of your shop… tough to work in tight quaters isn't it… I am fortunate to have a separate space to work out of… couldn't handle working out of my wife's garage… hopefully someday all woodworkers will have a stand alone shop to work out of…

The shop is small, but not as small as others have to I feel fortunate there. YOu know for us woodworkers houses should not be advertised as "Ranch house with two car attached garage". They should be "Ranch house with 22'x22' attached shop" lol…
