Project Information

I made the shelfs and window seat from 3/4" oak plywood and 1"x4" oak. The window seat was designed to accomodate file cabinet drawers from an existing file cabinet (which matches a desk in the same room). The room is too small for a file cabinet, shelves and the window seat, so taking 3 of the 4 drawers from the file cabinet and reallocating them to the window seat was the best option. We need to find someone to sew a cushion (preferably leather) for the seat.

Great looking project. Innovative also, using the matching drawers.

Great dog carving also.

THis looks really nice. How did you finish the front edge of the shelves? I've used both a lamination strip and used solid wood both have their strengths. Anyways, looks real good.

Looks great, nice built-in. There are lots of places online that will make custom window seat cushions. I know they can be affordable but can get costly based on material and size. You'll have to check on leather.

Joe, What a fantastic project and so well executed too. I've been looking to do something with my office to add storage space and I think I've found it. Hope you don't mind if I BORROW it. Just to complete it, what did you make that white fluffy thing on the seat out of?
