Project Information

My wife cooks with Sea Salt so she wanted a "Salt Cellar" to keep on the kitchen counter. This is my version.

Walnut body with borch rim

BloodWood top with PurpleHeart Knob. (not very purple in pic)

3 inch diam and about 4 inch tall overall.

All scrap wood. (birch is pallet others cut offs)

Please leave all comments and critiques. As I am allways trying to improve.

Thank You for looking.

Thanks for all the great comments.

Woodsdweller, Thanks,Did the rim that way just for that purpose. New that some would spill so made the edge like a funnel. Helps keep the salt conained.

Dusty56, Only used mineral oil on this. Did not want it "shiny" just wanted to seel it since it will be on the kitchen counter.

Thanks Again everyone.

Won't thew salt bleed through and show up on the outside? Just was wondering as this is a cool idea.
