Hi, I wanted to introduce myself - my name is Gail O'Rourke, I live in Plymouth MA - AKA America's Hometown. I am a full time cabinetmaker, as well as full time mother of three in the summer. I have been woodworking for several years. I concentrate on cabinetry, but will build anything that my customer is interested in. My greatest achievement in the shop is one that bring a smile to my clients face. I participate in a few forums, this format is new to me, so I will have to figure that out. I am constantly searching for new inspiration and new ideas… I ended here from a link on my friend Marc Spags site… you know him right?
So, I hope to check in and be inspired, surprised, enthused and excited and feed off the determination of those on the site. I am already impressed by browsing the gallery. You all do nice work!!
Welcome to Lumberjocks Gail! This is truly a one of a kind site, much more that just a simple forum site, Lumberjocks will amaze you with inspiration and good natured camaraderie. I, too, look forward to seeing some of your cabinets, as I worked my way though undergrad in a small custom cabinet shop for five years. That was where I first developed my love of woodworking. I hope you enjoy it here at Lumberjocks (but I know you will)
I think you'll like the place Gail. Lot's of friendly folks. Lots of interesting work, but the most important thing is the sense of community that has developed here. A great place to bounce ideas around.
Being from Plymouth you must go to Sandy's on Plymouth Beach for seafood (doesn't everyone?). If you see a tall cute blonde (named Nicole) working the window would you tell her that Dad has some work for her to do….
Thanks all! What a warm welcome. I appreciate that. Bob - Yes I frequent Sandy's - I will say hi to Nicole. The lumber yard is Downes and Reader in Stoughton, definitely a destination. Do you ever go to Sunnyline in East Bridgewater? That's another.
Hello and welcome Gail
I recognized your name from a few different sites.
The format is a little different here but there sure is a lot of great people and a ton of talent in this group.
I thought it might be Downes & Reader…I've been there a few times. I hadn't heard of Sunnyline though. There is a new place, Cape Hardwoods, down in Falmouth on Thom. Flanders Rd. I haven't been in there yet though.
Hi Gail:
I saw your stuff a few months ago and am really happy you could make it to this forum.
I also remember you working with that felllow that does the new tool demos a few years back.
John Lucas?
Great to have you here for some pro input.
I look forward to seeing more of your work here as your time permits.
Welcome, Gail, to the one and the only LumberJocks website. We hope you stay around and show us your woodworking skills. Enjoy your stay.
