Project Information
A simple box, mitered corners, poplar splines and walnut top.
The mahogany started life as crown moulding. I liked the profile and decided to see if I could make a quick box out of it. The moulding was probably 6 inches or so tall so I ripped it to around 4 inches, keeping the profile and taking off the bottom. After the box was done I wanted to continue the lines up around the top. I decided a smaller top with a rounded profile might carry the lines.
I guess it turned out ok, I took it to work and co-worker wanted it for his lady friend's birthday. This and another box will be the first of the great swap experiment.
