Project Information

Hi All,

I've been following the LumberJocks forums for a while and I really like learning from the community. I finally took some pictures that I'd like to share…

I'm making kitchen cabinets and decided I needed a clamping fixture. After searching the internet I found something that would probably work and only required 1 clamp instead of 2 or 3.

I rescued a large oak table top years ago and many of my shop jigs are made from it.

Here are a few picts.

Thanks for looking.

Very interesting. I'm going to have to steal this idea from you.

Great idea to purloin.
Looks so simple it is amazing no one has marketed it yet,

That is a nice idea. This is certainly a jig that would be worth copying.

Man I wish I had that. Would have made my job easy putting those mitered doors together the past couple of weeks. I'm going to make one. How long are the pieces?

Hey Cabinetmaster,

The length of the legs are just over 24" which gives over 40" of reach. I spaced the holes on 3" centers, in retrospect 2" centers might have been a better number. The connecting bars are about 5" wide, just make sure that there is enough room to clear if you use something like a hand screw type clamp.

Good luck, they do work well.

later,

Nice jig! I'm also building kitchen cabinets. Check out my home page and that's where I am now. I will be needing a jig for my doors too. I'm using cherry. Thanks for your dimensions. That will make it a snap for me to replicate.
