Thank you Dave !!!
Even though everything behind the plywood is insulated with special foam cloth about 5mm thick, we found that the tiling smooths the sound a bit more… not a necessary step, as it's up to you what sound you like best and since the JBL are a bit Rock that helped to soften the acoustics. Also I think it gave the speakers as a furniture a more unique look :D !!!

That is definitely eye catching!
Very pleasing design.
Just wondering, is there any resonance from the plywood?

I used to line my speaker cabinets with ceramic tile and build them out of MDF; nice sound but very heavy!

Thank you oldnovice !!!
With the insulation and the tiling over I have notice no resonance. The MDF was no choice in what we had mind when building them as I had build in MDF before and I know a bit that heavy sound you are saying. So we took a risk as it was my first in plywood and honestly I like this sound better… but then again I used that tiling here so the comparison between the two materials might not be accurate.

Great job, love those speakers! Any advice for a newby on making speakers? I have an old 1950s entertainment console ( radio and turn table) that is taking up too much room but want to keep the speakers and the receiver since they work great but I haven't a clue how to make speaker boxes with all the correct parts

Thnank you DeezToolz
My advise is to keep it simple and watch a few videos on youtube that will help allot. The box size is mostly determent by your speaker size… Good Luck !!!
